Freedom Innovations’ Plié® Knee: This knee uses advanced algorithms to control stance and swing, plus stumble recovery parameters. These parameters are customized for each user’s unique gait pattern, giving confidence that stance resistance will be provided over a broad spectrum of activities.
Ossur RHEO Knee: A device designed for transfemoral amputees, this knee acclimates to an amputee’s walking manner and surroundings. Learning how the amputee moves, the knee enables the wearer to effortlessly traverse slopes, stairs, and tight spaces, while walking at varying speeds with poise.
Ottobock C-Leg® 4: The most recent improvement to the original that debuted in 1997, improvements include advanced stumble recovery, a control feature that improves the transition to swing phase and makes it possible to safely walk backwards, and precise adjustment during each step. It’s a weatherproof knee, meaning it is splash resistant.
Ottobock Genium: Virtually duplicating a body’s natural gait no matter the speed, optimized physiological gait (OPG) reduces ground reaction forces, improving damping and promoting knee flexion, which helps minimize future orthopedic problems. Able to read movement at 100 times a second using multiple sensors and controllers, adjustments are made when users change speed, walking up or down stairs or hills, avoiding obstacles, and walking backwards. Allowing users to stand and sit more easily and naturally, it is lightweight and features battery life of nearly five days.
Ottobock Genium® X-3: As the system is water and corrosion-resistant, it stands up to any ambient conditions and can be used when showering or going swimming. Walking backwards, climbing stairs step-over-step or walking at changing speeds and with different stride lengths – the joint is intuitive to use and flexible in adapting to the circumstances. The running mode, developed especially for sports, provides the settings needed for jogging or running.
